We asked PADI Staff – What’s Your Favorite Scary Movie?

Basset DetectiveRoger Josselyn – PADI Retail and Resort Association
Insidious - because I haven’t seen Insidious 2 yet!

Gary Joyce – PADI Midwest Regional Manager
Jaws, I saw it on an island in New England & I didn’t swim in the ocean for the rest of that trip.

The Hills Have Eyes, a remake of a Wes Craven movie. It is seriously gory and features nuclear testing village, flesh eating mutant, blood by the gallon and of course “no mercy”. You might have trouble sleeping after this one…

Jeff Nadler – Industry & Governmental Relations Executive
The original Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr. The fact that he was an unwilling monster with deep remorse gave the movie nuance that wasn’t in the contemporary Frankenstein, Mummy and Dracula films and it contained one of the greatest movie lines of all time.

“Even he who is pure of heart says and his prayers by night can become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.”

Poltergeist. Little Carol Anne talking to voices only she can hear in the snowy static of a TV screen? Spine-tingling! And those creepy skeletons popping out of the freshly dug swimming pool? Suburban hell!

[I like] The Ring, Paranormal Activity series and other movies like that. Psychological horror is way more entertaining than gory horror.
